Although the manufacture claims it has the ability to clean both carpets and bare floors but in truth, unless you have an especial nozzle (purchased separately - if they have those), for a house with a lot of carpets, this in not a great vac to be honest. But if you have a lot of bare floors (especially wood and tiles), then the Kenmore 24195 is a very good cleaning tool nonetheless. It is very light in weight thus if you have to keep clean several floors or need a vac that is easily portable, then this is highly recommended!.

The brushes in the nozzle is driven by air and removes both dust and pet hair from the floors as well. But under heavy pet hair (especially) "conditions", make sure to clean the nozzle from time to time (usually 5-6 months) otherwise it'll stop rotating. The nozzle is not that wide nor it is small either thus fits around corners or other hard to reach places with ease (+ thanks to the swivel feature). It can do some pretty impressive cleaning jobs under low-pile carpets/rugs too. But on wood or tiles, etc... it just suck 'em really well!.

The wire cord is a bit short as mentioned before, but you can always get some help of an extension in those situations nonetheless. And the automatic cord rewind feature is pretty handy while storing for instance. Anyhow, if you have lots of hard floors (especially wood and tiles or anything similar) to clean and want an easy to use, light-weight canister vac, then the Kenmore Magic Blue 24195 is a really good product.
