Hoover Sprint QuickVac Bagless Upright (UH20040)

The Hoover Sprint QuickVac UH20040 is an upright vacuum cleaner that has a lower weight factor. It's designed in that way so you could easily move it from one floor to the next and according to Hoover themselves ...
"we've designed it with city dwellers in mind"...
As with their other vacs it comes with multi-cyclonic technology which results in a more efficient dust filtering comes with a rinse-able filter, decent wire cord lengths (although it could've been a bit longer), above floor cleaning feature, removable cleaning wand and few different height settings thus it can be used on all sorts of floor types as well.

Main hardware details...

*. Rinseable filter (washable but if you have allergies, etc to dust then you should go for a bagged vac nonetheless).

*. Primarily 3 stage filtration - Multi-cyclonic, rinse-able filter and a final HEPA media filter.

*. Re-moveable cleaning wand.

*. About 2 meters upper cleaning reach.

*. 3 Height adjustments available though the nozzle (has to be done manually) and 12.5 inch of width.

*. Bagless.

*. On/Off foot switch.

*. Metal handle.

*. 10 Amps vacuum motor.

*. About 7 meters of wire cord length. Not bad but as said before, it could've been a bit longer. But then again, when considering the price... this has to be tolerated.

*. Carpet and bare floor cleaning.

*. 5.6 kg of weight.

*. For tools - a crevice tool and an upholstery/dusting brush are provided.

*. Two year limited warranty period.

Before you begin you'll have to do some assembly but it's relatively easy to follow anyway and won't take more than few minutes. Anyhow, to begin with, the noise levels aren't that high and are acceptable + the suction is pretty decent but don't expect the best of suctions out there either. The foot on/off switch might need a bit getting used to, for some, but once you're familiar with it... I think it's pretty efficient.

However because of the low price the outfit seems to be like made out of cheap plastic materials so try not to let it fall from high grounds :). The vacuum cleaner is easy to use (lift, carry around, etc) thanks to the weight and you can use the provided tools for cleaning upper areas and other subtle materials such as furniture as well.

It has a low profile thus can be used to clean under beds and other "troublesome" places too. The built in clean-filter indicator which notifies you when it's time to clean the filter is a very useful feature worth mentioning. The dirt cup can be easily emptied without a hassle and includes a soft bumper for protecting against scratches.

So as an ending note, if you're looking for a bit of a cheap, easy to use, multifloor ready vacuum cleaner and can cope with the fact that the suctions or the performance in general is not superior but "decent", well then for its asking price the Hoover Sprint QuickVac UH20040 upright is a pretty decent vac nonetheless.

  2. Pick up small, hard objects before vacuuming — don’t make the vacuum do it. These objects can damage components inside your vacuum cleaner, reducing suction. In particular, look out for metal objects such as coins, paper clips, tacks and the like.
