If you have a lot of pets and dirty carpets filled with their hair and also allergic to dust, etc... then you should buy a bagged vac rather than a bag-less model. In that sense, Oreck seems to know exactly what they're doing, I mean, their products may not be the most cheapest, yet, they give you professional results afterward and the products last years into the future without losing any of their qualities which at the end deserves the price that you pay.

Anyhow, the Signature II has all the buttons located near the gripping area + the handle is especially made to make less strain as possible as well. It's not a self-propelled one, but on carpets, thanks to the powerful rollers and smoother wheels, it glides with ease. And when moving into bare floors from carpets, the height is automatically adjusted thus all you have to do is keep pushing the vac!.

The suction is great and picks up all the dust and pet hair from the floors without much of a hassle. It also features the Microban technology, although won't "apply" it on the floors (which helps to reduce stains and bacteria related activities, otherwise) but this helps to protect the vac from bacteria and allergy "attacks", so again, perfect for allergy sufferers.

The motor uses about 4 Amps but still outperforms some of the 12 Amp ones with ease which is not magic of course if you know how motors work anyway. This apparently helps to reduce some of that electricity usage as well (uses only 1/3 according to the manufacture). The nozzle has somewhat, a "shorter" widths in comparison some other products, but it helps to glide it under beds or other similar places (+ navigates around furniture) with ease nonetheless.

So, if you're looking for a highly durable vac that is guaranteed to give the same amount of results at least 10 years into the future, very easy to use, can be used on a lot of floor types, has the ability to remove both pet hair + dust and willing to pay the price (the price is actually very reasonable when considering some of their other models), then I highly recommend the Oreck Signature II upright.
