Even though the weight is a bit high to be called a portable vac but still with the help of the nozzle attachments and the hose you can clean stairs, couch or top of tables nonetheless. As said the nozzle is especially designed to remove animal hair. The filters however have to be replaced after every 6 months (and make sure to clean them depending on your dust or animal hair especially "density" to get the most out of the vacuum).

By default it is not recommended to be used on bare floors. The vacuum suction is also powerful and the noise is moderate. It can be used on rugs, carpets, wood floors (which is a bare floor too but it could be an exception...). Especially on carpets because of the roller brushes + the strong suctions gives amazing results. Although it has few different heights you will still have to set them manually but if you have lots of carpets with same characteristics (low piles or high densities) then you don't have to do it that often. But if you want the best possible results then you should change the height according to the carpet type (read the manual).

It has a power paw nozzle that can be used on furniture without having to worry about any scratches. So as a final note, if you have a lot of pets and dirt carpets that has to be cleaned thoroughly and need a vac but can cope with its weight then it is pretty hard to beat Eureka comfort clean oh 4235 az (especially considering the price too)
