Dyson dc08 allergy is a canister vacuum cleaner that comes with HEPA filters with a lifetime warranty, telescopic wand with few height adjustments, smoother rubber wheels that protects your subtle surfaces while using and has few different suction settings which enables it to be used on different types of floors are just a few to name.

Dyson claims that the "see-through" makes it easier to see when it's full. But under heavy debris or dirt it won't be that easy sometimes. But not a huge concern and most of the time you can tell if it is full or not by observing noticeable drops in the suctions.

To protect the filters and the motor they have built a chamber inside the dust-cup where larger "troublesome" things like nails, etc will be kept. This not only enhance the filter life-time but Dyson claims that you never have to buy another filter for it either. The suctions are pretty powerful and when cleaning curtains or other similar subtle materials make sure to slow it down by using the trigger which slows down the overall suction about 35%.

It has a small hole on the front of the nozzle that pickups the larger debris particles that sometimes get blown away (especially around corners). It also has the ability to remove pet hair from your floors which is a big relief for pet owners. Although the on/off switch is located on the canister which is OK but it is always easy to control a vac when it is mounted on the handle. Not a big issue though.

It comes with few tools of its own such as a crevice tool, stairs tool, brush, an animal turbo nozzle and a small animal nozzle that can be used on tighter places. If you combine them intelligently you can use it on lot of different types of floors such as carpets, rugs, wood, hardwood, tiles, etc but if you have a larger number of different floors then you'll have to switch between nozzles which is a bit of a pain. But again this has nothing to do with the canister since it is a common thing that you have to bear while using most of them anyway.

As mentioned the HEPA filters are really high quality ones and the DC08 is approved by the allergy foundation (UK) as well. Although it is not that quite but again for its power, it is certainly not unbearable one either. The weight is a bit high to be honest and may not be the best solution if you have to lift it and carry around (to another floor for instance).

So if you're looking for a vac that can be used on multiple surfaces, has massive suctions, lots of tools but willing to bear the weight and the price, then the Dyson DC08 Allergy delivers performance + a durability that is hardly ever matched by the others!. A highly recommended product.
