The S3686E has powerful suctions but I wouldn't recommend it using primarily on carpets. Although it does clean well on low pile carpets but it is mainly a bare floor cleaner, an excellent one I might add :). If you have subtle floors such as wood or hardwood, then this is a great solution that can be used without having to fear about making scratches either.

Thanks to the low weight + the shoulder wrap it can be used to clean stairs with ease as well. When considering the power of the suctions, the noise levels are quite low too, but the wire cord is a bit short, which is about 20ft. So, sometimes you may have to get some help from an extension cable.

So, if you're looking for an excellent bare floor (including stairs) cleaner that is easy to use and carry, takes little space of its own while storing but okay with the shorter wire cord (depends on the customer actually), then the Electrolux S3686E Mighty Mite is an excellent canister vac nonetheless.
