Dyson DC31 Review

Dyson DC31 is a very popular handheld vacuum cleaner product which is very similar to the recently announced DC35 multi floor model. It comes with a lightweight design thus enabling the user to handle it one handed, the slimmer looking fold-unfold handle which makes it easy to store & reach hard to reach areas such as under car seats for instance, two different speeds settings, easy to empty dust cup and comes pre-approved with the energy star standards.

Now below are few of the key hardware specifications...

*. A powerful motor with two different suction settings (more below).

*. This is powered by a batter and therefore once charged you can use it up to a maximum time of 10 minutes if used the moderate speed settings. But with the more battery sucking higher speeds/suctions it can last only around 6-7 minutes. So be aware of this. And even though the manufacture claims the battery being able to recharge quicker that others but still it'll take around 3 hours! but again it is quiet impressive.

*. Comes with a crevice tool and a combination accessory tool.

*. The wand once unfolded can reach up to a 12.7 inches.

*. Weight is really small and is about 1.3 kg (if you're looking for a heavy duty product then read the dyson dc19 allergy).

*. This is a bagless product, and make sure to keep the filter and other part cleaned once in a while (read the manual for more information) which helps to enhance the suctions + less motor loads which ultimately results in better battery time.

*. Two year period warranty (applies to both parts, accessories and labor).

Anyhow, the 10 minutes of max battery life claim isn't that bad since when using in actual situations thanks to the more powerful and efficient suctions you can clean inside of your car before the battery loses all its charge for example. But there isn't an indicator to show the battery status level which is disappointing. Should have been there for a wireless vac. The cup has a capacity of 0.09 gallons, which is not bad for its size.  

The soft let's smoother controlling abilities (on & off) in comparison to the previous models. There are two height adjustments available for the brush tool and choose according to the needs (for different floors) to get the best out of it. Although the suctions aren't superior thus won't be the best "weapon" against pet hair. But still it will remove some nonetheless.

Although it should be pretty apparent that you can only use it to do some light-duty jobs only.. and not a commercial vac anyway. When combined with the tools you can use it on lot of different types of places such as furniture, couch, stairs, hardwood, tiles, computer table, etc but again only suits for light-duty usages.

So as a final note to the review, if you're okay with the battery life, charging time and the fact that there is no battery indicator but want an easy to use multi-floor ready hand-held vac then the dyson dc31 is a great product.
