Panasonic MC-CG901 Canister (Orchid finish)

Panasonic MC-CG901 is a canister vac that was introduced recently and when considering its features such as the power cord (a bit short actually), wider (slim height) nozzle, ergonomic soft handle, standard wheels, agitator brush-roll and lots of tools... the MC-CG901 is actually a decent vac.

Let's have a look at the main hardware details first.

*. 12 Amp main motor.

*. Dual motor system.

*. 14" wide cleaning path which helps to cover a larger area quickly.

*. Overload protector (for the motor).

*. Uses vacuum bags.

*. HEPA exhaust filters.

*. Features the edge cleaning.

*. 3 Height adjustments.

*. Comes with 4 tools of its own - a crevice tool, combo brush, floor brush and 2-chrome wands.

*. 6 ft long hose attachment.

*. On/Off switch is located on the canister.

*. 20 ft long power cord (is a bit short actually... if you can always use an extension cable anyhow).

*. With all the on-board tools the 901 is not a light weight vac by any means - 13.7 kg!.

*. 1 Year warranty.

Remember it has a power-nozzle which is especially designed for cleaning carpets. But it can also be used on bare floors such as wood, tiles etc as well. The nozzle glides easily on the surfaces (although not the best of its kind if you have a lot of deep-pile carpets) but other than that, it navigates just fine even under "heavy" furniture type surrounding and under beds or other hard to reach places too.

The wire cord as mentioned before is actually bit short. So if you have a larger hall/rooms to clean then make sure to prepare an extension cable (depending on the room/hall size... anyway). The other negative feedback is the noise. This is not a quite vac. But certainly not unbearable.. again, not quiet either. The durability seems pretty decent too.

So, if you're willing to accept the above mentioned difficulties (and the weight of course), the Panasonic MC-CG901 is a pretty powerful canister vac nonetheless. Not recommended if you're looking for something easily portable.
