Dyson DC05

Dyson DC05 is a canister vacuum cleaner which is one of the oldest products of Dyson actually. It's very powerful, easy to empty dust cup, also known as the motor-head which is among the first vacs that came with came with motorized brushes and can be used on a lot of different types of floors such as wood, hardwood, carpet, tiles (etc). 

Here are the main hardware details first...

*. Comes with the dual cyclonic technology.

*. Bagless and the dust cup has a capacity of 0.53 Gallons.

*. The wire cord is reasonably long - 24.6 ft (roughly) and has the cord rewind feature.

*. Not low on vacuum suctions either - 250 Air watts.

*. 1200 Watt motor.

*. The filters are HEPA ones and they come with an impressive lifetime warranty! (+has the ability to block allergens, dust particles at 0.1 micron level).

*. When cleaning carpets make sure to use the provided cleaning powder (called the Zorb).

*. The weight is extremely low for its caliber which is below 5 kg.

*. The warranty applies to 2 years.

User Feedback Section

As said before this is not confined to one surface and can be used on carpets, hardwood, etc. Even though it has really powerful vacuum suctions but still the nose levels are impressively lower (as the case with most of their product Dyson dc35 for example).

Because of the weight this can be an excellent choice for stairs cleaning especially and can also be used inside cars as well (but that wider nozzle could give some problems in those situations anyway). And in comparison with some other models it is also a bit cheaper (most of the outer skin is made out of plastic). So if you want a very user friendly, quite yet a powerful vacuum cleaner then the Dyson dc05 canister will be a fine choice but I don't think they manufacture it anymore which could be the only drawback.
